Teacher salaries: A prerequisite for reform

 

All over the world, education as a profession is losing its appeal. For two years, an IIEP research team explored the issue of teacher career reforms in ten countries. One of the conclusions of this project stands out clearly: salary review is an indispensable prerequisite for any attempt to upgrade the status of teaching careers. Here is why. 

 
 
 
 

COVID-19: Focus on education

 

UN Secretary-General António Guterres released the Education in the time of COVID-19 and beyond Policy Brief warning that the pandemic has created the most severe disruption in the world’s education systems in history and is threatening a loss of learning that may stretch beyond one generation of students.

Training: Educational planning & gender

The call for applications for the 2020 University IIEP-UNESCO Dakar on educational planning and gender (in French) is open until 13 September 2020. The training is free and will take place online (2-27 November) and in-person in Dakar, Senegal (7-11 December, if the sanitary situation allows it). Priority places are reserved for candidates from the G5 Sahel (Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania, Niger and Chad). 

 
 
 

International Literacy Day 2020
